That’s a great bottle of wine!

As Old Farm Winery at Hartland owner, Jon Hickox and his team planted vineyards in the watchful shadow of the old hilltop farmhouse, a vision for our wine labels’ design began to form. First, it was all about the view: a delicate, detailed ink drawing of the farmhouse framed by two great black walnut trees, with vineyards stretching into the foreground. To honor the land’s history as hunting grounds, the hound and its quarry, a red fox, face off below the winery name. You can nearly hear the hounds baying at the fox hunt!

This summer’s grand opening of Old Farm Winery at Hartland promises a feast for the senses and many ways to enjoy yourself, each one improved by the glass of wine in your hand. All of our wines are produced locally by our award-winning winemaker, Ashton Lough, using our own Virginia grapes sourced from Rock Mill Vineyards, our estate vineyard with locations in Loudoun, Rappahannock, and Fairfax Counties. In the coming years, Old Farm’s newly planted vineyards will add exciting new varietals like Vidal Blanc, Petit Manseng, and Albariño to the mix.

The bottles and memories you take home will be warm reminders of the part every guest plays in keeping this piece of Loudoun County green.
